Hello!
My name is Marguerite Eberhart (m.s.eberhart.) I’m an artist living in the beautiful Hudson Valley region of New York.
My family told me that I started drawing on paper when I was 2 years old. I expanded to crayon on oven door fairly quickly. With that, it may seem strange, but I never chose art classes in school. My first studio classes happened in college! I received a BS in Art Education.
I paint landscapes and still life compositions and portraits of people and animals. Studying the subject (animate or inanimate) while painting creates an intimacy. It’s intensive; seeing and understanding form and color.
No matter what I am painting, I love to paint in oils. I’m happy to have my work in many private collections and to exhibit in juried and individual shows.

A few years ago I painted some pictures of our own beloved dog Willie, which were well received, so I began accepting commissions for pet portraits. It’s so much fun to paint the beautiful lines and the expressive faces of furry and feathered friends. I love it when a client exclaims, "You really captured him (or her)!"
